Learn how to compare your Amazon Bestseller Rank against your sales over time, and how to read the relationship between the two so you can act on it with confidence.
Where to find it: the Bestseller Rank Analysis dashboard is available in the Hub for both Vendor and Seller accounts, under Hub → Vendor / Seller → Performance.
What this analysis is for
With the Bestseller Rank Analysis dashboard you can compare your Bestseller Rank with your Ordered Units and see how both KPIs have developed over time. You can also compare your Bestseller Rank across different subcategories at ASIN level. This helps you understand how much sales volume you actually need to appear (and stay) in the Bestseller Rank for a category.
Step 1 — Access the dashboard
Open the Bestseller Rank Analysis dashboard via Hub → Vendor / Seller → Performance.
Step 2 — Apply filters
Use the standard filters — Time Range, Marketplace, and ASIN — to refine your view. This dashboard has one additional filter:
-
Aggregation — determines how granular the chart is (how finely the time axis is broken down).
Step 3 — Read the charts
In the first chart, compare your Bestseller Rank (blue line) with your Ordered Units (red columns) and see how both KPIs have developed over time.
In the second chart, compare your Bestseller Rank across different subcategories at ASIN level. You have to choose an ASIN first.
When to use this dashboard

Reading the rank-vs-sales relationship
|
What you see |
What it usually means |
|---|---|
|
Sales go up but rank goes down |
Your competitors' sales (the sales in the category overall) are increasing faster than yours. |
|
Sales go down but rank goes up |
Competitor/category sales are decreasing faster than yours — you are losing volume more slowly than the market. |
|
Sales go down but rank goes up (alternative cause) |
Other sellers are making the sales on your listing. Check your Buy Box and the emax digital Seller Monitor to see who you lost the Buy Box to. |
