Dashboard Shows Unexpected Values

This page is under construction. Additional troubleshooting cases will be added in the next project phase. The first case below is live.

Buy Box Percentage Differs Between Dashboards

Symptom: The Buy Box Percentage shown in Seller Hub → Inventory does not match the Buy Box share shown in Seller Monitoring → Buy Box Shares.

Why this happens: Both figures are correct, but they use different measurement methods.

  • Seller Hub → Inventory shows the Buy Box percentage as reported directly by Amazon via Seller Central, based on actual order attribution. This is the most revenue-accurate figure.

  • Seller Monitoring → Buy Box Shares is based on daily snapshots of your product detail pages taken by emax digital. Because Amazon's Buy Box rotates between sellers throughout the day, a single daily snapshot may not match Amazon's order-attribution figure — particularly over short time windows.

What to do:

  • If you are evaluating your own Buy Box performance relative to revenue: use Seller Hub → Inventory.

  • If you are monitoring the competitive landscape — who wins the Buy Box on your ASINs and how it changes over time: use Seller Monitoring → Buy Box Shares, and always look at trends over several weeks rather than individual days.

No FBA/FBM Inventory Data Shown in Product Performance

No FBA/FBM Inventory Data Shown in Product Performance

Symptom: Product Performance (Seller) shows no FBA or FBM inventory figures for the selected date range, even though Inventory (Seller) shows current stock levels.

Why this happens: Amazon's SP-API only provides Seller inventory as a current snapshot — not as a historical report. emax digital reads this snapshot daily and builds up its own inventory history over time, starting from the date the Seller account was connected.

The Inventory dashboard only offers a "Current" time period, so it always shows the latest available snapshot. Product Performance lets you choose any date range; selecting "Current" there shows the same latest snapshot, but selecting a past period that falls before the account's connection date will show empty FBA/FBM figures, since no history exists yet for that range.

What to do:

  • Select "Current" (or a recent period after the account's connection date) in Product Performance to see inventory data.

  • For the latest stock levels regardless of date range, use Inventory (Seller) instead.

Side note: FBA inventory reflects the stock level Amazon reports for its fulfilment centres; FBM inventory reflects the value the seller has entered directly in Seller Central.
