Migration note (Phase 1b): Content reproduced from the legacy page "Content Monitor Walkthrough". Grammar and structure tidied; not yet optimised or fact-checked. This dashboard is available in both Analytics Hub and Monitoring Hub.
The Content Monitor lets you check whether Amazon displays your content correctly on the product detail page (PDP). You upload your master content and the Content Monitor compares it against what Amazon actually shows.
How to upload master content
The master content upload lets you define the expected (target) content for each of your ASINs. Once uploaded, the Content Monitor compares this master data against what Amazon actually displays on the PDP.
What to include in your master content upload file:
-
Title
-
Bullet points
-
Description
-
Has Brand Story (yes/no)
-
Has Brand Store (yes/no)
-
A+ Content (yes/no)
-
Number of images
Important rules and behaviour:
-
Never change the column names in the upload file β the system relies on exact column-name matching to process the data correctly.
-
Every change is applied immediately, including empty fields. If you upload a row with empty values for an ASIN that already has existing data, those empty values will overwrite the existing content.
-
Tip: Upload only the ASINs where changes were made β there is no need to re-upload data that hasn't changed.
Filter options
In the Content Monitor you can filter by:
-
Marketplace β select the marketplace you want to look at.
-
Columns β customise the content elements you want to look at.
-
ASIN / Title β search for a specific ASIN or product title.
-
Status β tag your products as New, In Progress, To Do, or Accepted so you know which ASINs are already communicated to Amazon.
-
Tags β filter your products by the tags you inserted in your catalog.
-
Categories β filter your products by the categories you inserted in your catalog.
Go to the Catalog to fill in tags and categories.
Overview
In the overview you can see at a glance where content is missing or mismatched against your master content.
Product level
When you click on a product, you can see exactly what is wrong in each content element:
-
Title
-
Bullet points
-
Description
-
Main image
-
Images
-
Number of images
-
Brand
-
Manufacturer
-
Back-end keywords
You can overwrite the master content and save the changes.
To configure how the Content Score is calculated, see Managing Your Content Score.
Buy Box status here vs. in the Buy Box and Price Monitor: The Content Monitor reports a Detail Page Status based on crawling the live product detail page (data can be up to a week old, depending on license type). The Buy Box and Price Monitor reports a BB Price Status based on Amazon's API (typically previous-day). The two can legitimately differ. See the Buy Box and Price Monitor page for the full explanation and best-practice guidance.
